Build updates! YAY! Thats all I need to say.
Neasden Control Centre have just updated with a new website. ‘NCC works broadly across disciplines in creative direction, graphic, installation, film and motion. Since its establishment in the 90’s, it continues to develop by hand a raw, layered, collaged, and primal approach while expanding in scope and vision.’
They have had this dialed since day one, and are a massive inspiration to us all.
Ben Lawson is a unique individual who defies explanation. I love people like that. I can’t say it better than he does himself so I may as well let his own words do the talking:
“I kicked around as a physicist and engineer for many years before becoming an artist and I’ve done some pretty random things in between including finding squirrels for Rumanian TV and reporting on nuclear terrorism for the Japanese government.
Much of my work describes a fascination with scientific illustration, the antiquarian imagination and the blurring between the real and the obviously not true.
I live beyond the borders of the Roman Empire with my wife and 4 year old son in Newcastle upon Tyne.”
Stunning. Absolutely stunning photography from the enormously talented Peter Farago. His work is a study in absolute aesthetic.
I gotta be honest and admit that I am not the biggest fan of Sandberg and Timonen’s website and how their work is displayed but that is my one and only criticism. If you can get past that and start clicking through their work, almost every click yields something great. There is nothing but great work in their portfolio.
Method recently updated their site design and there is some really great work in the book.
The brilliant and amazing Sam Weber recently updated his site with a lot of new work. It is all spectacular as always and he continues to be my favorite illustrator of the moment. Gorgeous work. All of it.

I found this little mini-documentary about RGB from Eduardo Morais really interesting and enjoyable.
I have posted Travis Stearns’s work before from his personal site at I am Mint Condition. However, I just stumbled across his Behance page today and was really inspired by some of the work I found. I love psychedelic art with a modern twist and he has it in spades in his portfolio.

Photographer Carl Warner has created visceral and beautiful landscapes by photographing food. It’s fascinating stuff and a bizarre but interesting idea. You can read more about the process behind the imagery here and see more of Warner’s work at his personal website.

“An organic sculptural landmark that responds to human interaction and expresses context awareness using hundreds of sensors and over 15,000 individually addressable optical fibers. Constructed of carbon glass, spanning over four meters, and containing more than 65 kilometers of fiber optics, the Cloud encourages visitors to touch and interact with information in new ways, manifesting emotions and behavior through sound and a dichotomy of luminescence and darkness.
Located in downtown Florence outside the Fortezza da Basso. the Cloud is part of the “Redesigning Fashion Trade Shows” project that Pitti Immagine launched with MIT Mobile Experience Lab in January 2007. It is a long-term project that will creatively rethink the trade show concept and will propose innovative technologies, perspectives and sensory experiences for fashion trade shows.”

I apologize, I was lax on posting a new Ted Talk last week. I have selected a new talk this week by Adam Grosser about creating refrigeration without electricity. It’s an amazing idea that could do wonders for third world countries that do not have access to electricity and therefore do not have the ability to refrigerate food.
