Madrid-based motionographer Helio Vega has returned to the freelance world and recently posted an updated reel. His work is still looking pretty fresh and he’s showing little signs of stopping.
Again here we go with another amazing student project this time by Jacob Streilein as a part of his studies at Cal Arts. There is a wonderful style represented here and the animation isn’t too shabby either. Keep an eye on Jacob. (Give us a call when you are out my friend).

“Jägermeister wanted to create a stylised video piece to promote their drinks brand across a range of clubs in Germany. Displayed on large flat screen monitors and digital media throughout various participating venues, the content needed to speak about the brand in a refreshing, energetic way.
Creating something interesting, and quite abstract, whilst simultaneously telling a story was of importance during this project. The finished piece was designed to loop indefinitely, yet it can still be interpreted as a journey through the dimensions of evolution, moments in time and kinetic energy.

Imaginary Forces is once again cranking some jaw-dropping work for the God of War series of video games. I was incredibly inspired by their previous work for the game and this little preview ups the ante and does not disappoint.

Lucio Arese emailed this absolutely brain exploding insane experimental music video he cerated titled ‘Mimic’. The music was composed by Yu Miyashita.
“Shot into a cattle market, the film rides the verge between nonsense, random noise and organic, structured audiovisual events, enhancing the plastic clashes of a digital inserted foreground into an old and rusty environment.
Humorous, lunatic, cartoonish, nightmarish, Mimic is an attempt to reach a complete unity between music and motion picture in an epoch of violent changes.”
There is some red hot work being fired out of the canon at Capacity, a motion design and production studio based like so many other out of LA.

The New York Times recently approached our friends at Legwork to produce a video outlining the failed deal between Obama and Boehner. Not surprisingly Legwork’s signature style is again attracting a lot of attention. It’s official, they are on fire.
I wrote about the work of Daniel Moreno a long while back and featured his animation explaining the art of hand rolling a cigarette. He has since been busy and recently released his 2012 reel. It appears he has spent some time developing his craft and it shows well.
Jake Sargeant is an amazing motion designer and animator who has produced some kick ass works for agencies and film studios. Prepare to be inspired while picking through his portfolio. He’s the real deal.
I don’t know a lot, if anything about this project or the film that it’s for but considering the source material, cast and director, it sounds like it could be a pretty strong film.
