I am currently a Senior at the Maryland Institute College of Art, majoring in Graphic Design. I have also been practicing digital photography for just under a year now. My experience in the field began while working in-house at Bechtel Corporation, an international engineering company. The job consisted of mostly internal print productions and technical figures, but it taught me the ropes. I spent the next year in school, studying with some fantastic faculty, one of which being Ellen Lupton. Hopefully she requires no introduction. It was through my relationship with Ellen that I got my position as intern at Pentagram, under the instruction of Abbott Miller. This lasted from the beginning of 2007 to just a few months ago, in March of 2008. While at Pentagram, I worked very closely on many different projects, including the past two issues of 2wice: “Green World” as well as “False Start,” among other projects such as a comprehensive book on Charles and Ray Eames, the graphics within the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee (Grand opening this July), and an upcoming exhibition in the city of Brno in the Czech Republic, to name a few. I spent about a month after that internship, working in a small design firm in Baltimore named Shaw Jelveh Design, but it is actually the rising performance apparel company, Under Armour who has currently taken me under their wing. As of now I am the apparel graphics designer for Youth clothing lines, as well as some international pieces. You may not recognize Under Armour for their graphics on clothing as of now, but be on the lookout after the next season!
