Lemonade is an upcoming documentary that will hit a lot of us very close to home. I have been laid off twice so far in this industry and the second time I wasn’t sure I could rebound from. I am back in it now, and in it deep but a lot of people are on the outs in the current recession. Lemonade is a documentary about a few of those 70,000 people in the advertising industry who have been handed a pink slip and gone out to discover who they really are and do what they really should have been doing.

    Even though I work in the advertising industry I don’t see why anyone should care about a bunch of overpaid wankers with pointless jobs.
    Just seems like one of the wankers saw a way to make money off all the other wankers out of work

    Awesome attitude. I hope you never get laid off from your ad job and have to worry about your family and your mortgage. Besides, what makes their new jobs so pointless and advertising so meaningful?

    anyways… being laid off twice in a very competitive and saturated industry left me feeling lost and alone. this will most definitely hit real close. thanks for the heads up. pretty inspiring to see others find life after design. especially the artist….

    also rule #1 after getting rehired imo – get that savings account back up!

    I was recently laid off – in Feb – and decided earlier this week that I’m going to pack my bags, head east and give my longtime ambitions of opening a studio doing art full time a shot. This movie looks like it will really hit home for me, thanks for the post.
