MGMT (Make Great Music Together) has released it’s official video for the wildly popular track ‘Kids’. The song has been all over the place, so chances are you have heard it already. That does not stop the video, however from being mildly offensive and questionable. Damn I love this band. I hope their sophomore album is good.

That child will be forever emotionally scarred from his experience in this video.

Yeah, it’s pretty shocking and that was the ‘mildly offensive and questionable’ part I was referring to.

uhh that was a total misquote in the beginning. Mark Twain didn’t say that, Nietzsche did and it wasn’t written like that.

it’s not like that kid had a real choice to be in that video. i like the band and the song a lot but this is nothing else than child abuse… thumbs down!

Actually if you go to the mgmt website, they write that the misquote was done on purpose. I don’t know why, but that was the intent.

I don’t think much of anything they do is an accident. I think they are pretty deliberate about their music and their image. The two guys that started the band are both highly educated and I think they enjoy ruffling people’s feathers and mocking popular culture.

yeah actually MGMT stands for the Management.
    i would change it….

The members of the group claimed in an interview on a French music program that the initials stood for ‘Make Great Music Together’. I thought it was Management as well until I watched the interview. Might be another instance of them messing with people but that is what was said in the interview.
