I’ve been following Depthcore for inspirations sake now for several years. It appears they’ve recently updated the look and feel of their website. It looks great and it’s even easier now to peruse some of the inspiring work that regularly appears within their thematic ‘chapters’. The piece above is from the recent chapter ‘Time’ and was created by Pavel Sabelnikov.

Hydro 74: Halftone Series

Comments Off on Hydro 74: Halftone SeriesIllustration

Man Joshua Smith AKA (the notorious) Hydro 74 just doesn’t f*ck around. The guy’s the real deal. Tried and tested. I recently stumbled upon a halftone print series he is working on and instantly recognized his work but it looked ‘new’ in a way difficult to describe. In short it looks awesome. Yes that is an overused word but in this case it definitely applies. I’ll be looking to get my hands on one of these prints. Keep an eye on his storefront to do the same.

Andrew Holder: Updates

Comments Off on Andrew Holder: UpdatesIllustration

We’ve had the shear pleasure of working with illustrator Andrew Holder in the past and we are big fans of his work. He has a simple but inarguably classic style that walks the line between fine art and illustration. He’s an absolute professional to work with and he’s recently updated his website so if you are in the market for something unique, it’s a good time to give the man a call. Great work Andrew.

I stumbled upon one of my favorite illustrator’s Flickrfolio today and that illustrator is none other than Jonathan Zawada. Of particular interest was this clever ‘bust’ portrait of Michael Jackson for an unpublished magazine article.

There are some strangely surreal and meticulously crafted images in the portfolio of Canadian artist Tristram Lansdowne. Many of which I very much enjoy.

Jonathan Zawada has kept busy. The best way to see what he has been up to is by checking in on his ‘commercial portfolio‘ where there looks to be a lot of activity since I last dropped in a long while back.

‘HOME’ an exhibition by Ian ‘Kid Zoom’ Strange

In October 2011, after three years living in New York, artist Ian Strange [Kid Zoom] returned to Australia to create a major new installation work housed in Cockatoo Island’s prestigious Turbine Hall. The exhibition featured a full-scale reproduction of his childhood home and a film documenting the violent destruction of three Holden commodores. This video documents what resulted:
