Berlin-based André Gottschalk has a strong body of both design and illustration work. Rarely do you see someone so equally rounded at both disciplines as both sides of the spectrum in his portfolio are worth looking into. He is definitely someone to keep an eye on.
Berlin-based graphic designer Till Wiedeck updates with some sharp new graphic design work for print. The triangle has managed to sneak it’s way through 2009 and find it’s way into holographic foil for 2010 (looks sharp though eh?).
German graphic designer Maike Hamacher has some unusual but amazing work in her portfolio. She is currently based in Berlin but values travel as she has it listed in her resume (that’s nice to see). The folding of the printed piece above is so complicated that there is a Youtube video explaining how it works. It’s a beautifully accomplished work of print however, and a real testament to her thinking. Maike asked me to note that the project was completed while working at Onlab and it was developed together with Nicolas Bourquin and Thibaud Tisso.
Berlin-based graphic designer Tobias Roettger has a rather random scroll of a portfolio which at first doesn’t necessarily seem all that engaging until you start to take notice of a few really nice examples of contemporary design and illustration.
Berliner Timo Boese A.K.A. Lowerground, got in touch to let us know that he has been busy creating new motion graphics for the likes of Nike, Lamborghini and A-Ha.
Interesting work for print by Berlin-based William Davis.
The artwork from this years Illustrative 09 event are online and there is some beautiful work to behold. The above piece is by Aya Kato and is entitled ‘Evolving Moment’. Be sure to read up on the Illustrative event while you are there as well.
There are some insanely detailed drawings in the Behance-folio of the wild and wicked minded Berlin-based Saddo.
Wow, Berlin-based illustrator/artist, Meyoko has crafted some seriously amazingly detailed illustrations. You can check them out in Meyoko’s Behance-folio. The work is not only expertly crafted but also highly imaginative.
Onlab is a design firm and co-founder of Etc Publications, a platform for independent publishing based in Berlin.
Berlin-based illustrator Mathis Rekowski has come a long way in terms of the development of his style. He has some really interesting work in his portfolio that is well worth a browse. Also, be sure to check out his Flickr-folio for more up-to-date work.
There is some nice typographical work happening at Double Standards.
The Berlin-based studio Ice Cream for Free has updated with some nice work since I last dropped in. They were one of the few to have their poster chosen to be published by IDN for the Omega Code poster project, which I will not put up here since I think everyone has had their fill of overlapping triangles in the last few months (still a cool poster however).
Nepomuk is Sven Neitzel, Doris Freigofas and Daniel Dolz from Berlin and they have some really great design and illustration work in their collective book. I have written of their exploits before but it appears their is a bit of newness happening since I last dropped in.
Some bold, simple and colorful work in the portfolio of Smyk. They’ve been mentioned here before but there are one or two new things on their site.
“Nepomuk is a small design and illustration group in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg. Daniel Dolz, Doris Freigofas and Sven Neitzel have started Nepomuk in Autumn 2005. Doris Freigofas and Sven Neitzel currently study at the Kunsthochschule-Berlin Weißensee, Daniel Dolz studys at the FHTW in Berlin.”
Fun colorful work fills the portfolio of Berlin-based studio Smyk.
White Void is an interactive art and design studio located in Berlin. Their website has an intuitive navigation that has to be seen to be believed. Awesome is the applicable word I think.
