This was in my email inbox this morning:
“Axtor Disney was an american cartoonist, illustrator, musician, and magician. Elder brother of Walter E. and Roy O. Disney, he along with his brothers founded The Walt Disney Company in 1923.

After many heated and sometimes violent discussions, mostly due to his very peculiar and strange work methods, and especially because of his children illustrations which can only be described as ‘queer’, he was fired from his own company and expelled from the core of the Disney family itself, situation that made him change his very own last name from Disney to “Majesto” His brothers made sure to wipe each and every piece of work that could credit his existence, burning all his sketches and his macabre collection of deformed animals.

Secluded in the darkness and mentally supressed, Axtor decides to give birth to a new company named “Espeluzland” in order to compete with the overly friendly and fantastic world of his new enemies, the Disney brothers.”

It was just too weird not to post.

Bloc28 and Disney have combined forces to give the world’s most famous mouse gets a makeover at the hands of some of today’s most prominent street artists (Aroe, Chaz Bojorquez, Ewok, Rime, Tenga, Suiko, Slick). The results will be sold on an Ebay Charity Auction. Some of the work is pretty interesting. I love the piece displayed above.

Eric Tan

I’m a frequent viewer of Eric Tan’s blog just to see what he’s up to. I’ve loved his stuff since I first saw his posters for the Incredibles, but I’m just now writing about him. Sorry, Eric.

If you haven’t heard of him, you should definitely check his stuff out. In his own words he’s a “Designer/Drawer Dude. Grew up in the sleepy town of San Diego. Suffers from narcolepsy. When not working or sleeping…or sleeping at work, I usually have a skateboard, a snowboard, or a burrito in hand.”

His style is just awesome…kind of 50’s advertisements/movie posters with a modern twist. He’s done some posters for the last few Pixar movies, and once again, he’s done it for their newest movie, Wall-E.

Besides Disney and Pixer, he’s done some excellent work for X-Men and Indy, too.

Be sure to check his blog frequently, and if you like his stuff visit the Acme Archives to pick one your own piece of his art.

To see more of his Disney/Pixar work, stop by /film for their feature on him.
