Justin Ponmany has exploded the faces of already fascinating portraiture subjects to create an even more memorable image. The result of which is something that you won’t soon forget.

Lifelounge has put up the official Some Type of Wonderful store and there are still several A1-sized prints available from some very renowned typographers and illustrators. The only catch is they are not cheap.
“Using digital technology, graphic designer Hans Weishäupl has carefully reconstructed portraits of 13 dictators over the past 100 years. However, the photo montages, which measure 1.8 m x 2.3 m do not contain a single piece of original picture material, but are made of countless tiny, specially shot portraits of the citizens of the country the dictator ruled over. Christian Lechelt and Hans Weishäupl photographed over 350 people between November 2007 and March 2008, in Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Dresden, Frankfurt, Berlin, Amsterdam, Moscow, Belgrade, London, Barcelona, Paris and Milan.
The portrait of Hitler is made up of 37 people. His nose belongs to an estate agent from Berlin, his upper lip is from a locksmiths in Dresden, and so on. Each wrinkle, each mole, each eyebrow was reconstructed to resemble the original.”
Wow.

If you are interested in contemporary photography I am sure David LaChapelle needs no introduction. However, his recent exhibition was really amazing and if you haven’t visited his site for a while it is worth checking out. His site runs very slow and I have no idea why but if you can spare the patience, the photographs are just amazing.
Their website may take a little patience but I’ll be damned if there isn’t some just downright awesome work up for viewing pleasure at the oh-so-German Gunter Rambow. There are some real diamonds in that mine. Big shiny ones.
Not to mention the fact that they could start a kick-ass German speed metal band and not even have to change their name.
Super attractive typography in the portfolio of Philippe Apeloig. Smart, clean – very lovely.
Notorious stencil artist Banksy will be exhibiting in Hong Kong late this month at the “LOVE ART” show curated by Fabrik Contemporary Art. The exhibition will also feature the work of several other high-profile controversial artists such as Damien Hirst, Keith Haring, Romero Britto, and Mel Ramos. I can’t thin of another exhibition where such an infamous group of artists have all been grouped together. I only wish someone would buy me a ticket to Hong Kong so I could see it for myself.
