There’s some richly detailed retro-styled work in the Behance portfolio of irish designer/illustrator of Steve Simpson. His rather literal interpretation of smorgasbord makes for the perfect visual pun and it’s accomplished in a style that is an equally perfect fit.
Irish Graphic Design Duane Dalton has some excellent minimal posters in his portfolio including a series titled ‘Album Anatomy’ that includes some great work centered around a few of my personal favorite bands.
A great grip of illustrations and animation by Irish illustrator Eoin Ryan who is based in London. Recent Clients include Wallpaper, GQ Magazine, New Scientist and Wired Magazine.
The Offset 2010 event in Dublin, Ireland will soon be kicking off from October 1st through the 3rd. Last years event included speakers such as Massimo Vignelli, Chip Kidd, James Jean, House Industries, The London Police, Sir Peter Blake, Oliver Jeffers, Pentagram, Dave McKean, Experimental Jetset and Tara McPherson. This years event is being hosted at Grand Canal Theatre, situated right in the heart of Dublin’s Docklands. It’s a really great venue for a meeting of the creative minds. We wish terribly that we could be there. Hopefully next year. What better reason do you need to visit Dublin.
Dublin-based artist/illustrator Denise Nestor has a nice series of fashion-inspired pencil drawings in her Flickr-folio. The layering effect in some of the pieces is striking. You can also view her work via blog-folio Trees for the Woods.
